Forest Research Centre

Phytochemistry Research programme of this centre was undertaken by the Chemistry Section as early in 1982. The Section's activities mainly centre on soil chemistry aspects in forestry, and are divided into service and research activities. Under service activities, the Section runs a laboratory analysing soil, foliar and water samples received from within and outside the Research Centre. Equipment wise, the Section has expanded considerably since its inception in 1982 and the laboratory is now equpped with equpment like an inductively-coupled plasma spectrometer or ICP, an auto analyzer, spectrophotometers and other facilities. Current research studies are looking into the effects of tree plantations on site quality.
