FOREST RESTORATION

Forest Restoration Program will be done in phases. The 1st phase of this program started in August 2013. SFD had appointed EZ Enterprise as the contractor to the 1st phase of 50 Ha restoration areas. This program will target open area of ex-camp sites, ex-stumpings and landing sites, ex-sawmill sites and other degraded forest gaps. Forest restoration program consist of several work specification i.e preliminary works, site preparation, supply raising and maintenance of seedlings, fertilizing, constructing temporary nursery and placing restoration signboards and also road maintenance within planting blocks.
In the year 2015, SFD had appointed Syarikat Indah Jaya as the contractor of the 5.0 Ha restoration area. The target area for restoration work as well as maintenance and fertilization is the open area. The contractor had completed their works including first maintenance and a 50gm fertilization work. Border demarcation for the planting block as well as the restoration signboard had been prepared.

In 2016, SFD had appointed Saramas as the contractor of the 25 Ha restoration area. The target area for restoration work as well as maintenance and fertilization is the open area. The contractor had completed their works including first maintenance and a 50gm fertilization work. Border demarcation for the planting block as well as the restoration signboard had been prepared.

In 2019, SFD had appointed M.B.A Enterprise as the contractor of the 20 Ha restoration area (Phase 4), Contract No. JP/SN/PPA-KLBKN/D11/02/2019, within a period of 8 weeks starting 16th October 2019 to 10th December 2019. The restoration work by M.B.A Enterprise has been completed with planting of Dipterocarp Species such as Selangan Batu. The restoration work was carried out near the riparian area.

In 2020, SFD had appointed Rezeki Berganda as the contractor of the 5 Ha restoration area (Phase 5), Contract No. JPHTN/KLBKN/NGR/D11/01/2020, within a period of 6 weeks starting 14th September 2020 to 26th October 2020. The restoration work by Rezeki Berganda has been completed with planting of Dipterocarp Species such as Kapur, Selangan Batu and Urat mata. The restoration work was carried out near the riparian area.

As for now, the management is focusing on maintaining the existing restoration area of 80 Ha consists of Phase 1 (50 Ha) and Phase 3 (25 Ha).
