SABAH FORESTRY DEPARTMENT

| Forest Protection | Forest Fire Monitoring |

The Protection unit was formed to patrol and monitor forest fire incidents across the project area. Patrolling was done by ground patrol, river patrol and aerial surveillance. In 2019, frequency of patrolling activities has decreased to 100 days as compared to previous years due to vehicles problem. This include 284 km and 240 km distances of river patrolling along the Segama-Bole River and Malua River respectively, and two aerial surveillances which was carried out in April and September 2019. No forest fire incident was detected in 2019.
