SILVICULTURE TREATMENT
Silviculture Treatment is one of the main activities which were planned and being actively implemented in Sugut Conservation Area. The main goal is to release selected trees from climber and bamboo disturbances so that they may achieve optimum growth rate. In the end, the overall forest will have a very healthy condition and provides better habitat for wildlife.
As part of the department’s social responsibility and in complying with the resolution agreed during the Stakeholder and Community Committee meeting, all manpower used in this activity are locally hired.

Throughout the year 2017, as much as 625 Ha of the Trusan Sugut Forest Reserve had enhanced with Silviculture Treatment. The total treated area in the forest reserve within the year 2014 to year 2017 more less than 3,362 Ha. Information of the Silviculture Treatment progress as shown in the table 1.1.
