Heartwood light pinkish brown to light brown, sometimes with a silvery grey tinge. Black streaks occasionally occur and maybe several inches wide and are interspersed with light brown wood and the timber so streaked is figured Asam. Sapwood not clearly defined except in figured Asam, where the black material is confined to the heartwood.
